Question

Save As / Auto-Save Folder

When first opening a Premiere project from the Auto-Save Folder, then Save As... the save dialogue opens. The current original file shows as greyed out outside the Auto-Save folder as expected. However, clicking on the item to replace the file with the original name, the dialogue selects the file name, but also unexpectedly the Auto-Save folder. As such, the user is tricked to save the file into the Auto-Save folder, instead of replacing the selected file. Thanks.

It is not a bug. It is how it works.

When opening a flle, then wanting to save (as) the file, the directory in which the original file resides opens.

In this case the Auto-save folder.

Just select a different location and choose a unique name.OK.

Kindly re-read my post, the issue is that it should save and replace the file that the user clicks, as expected on Mac. Thanks!

I read your post. And it does not say you are on a Mac.

Dont think it makes any difference if on Windows or Mac..

If you use the original name Premiere will ask you if you want to confirm Save as (project already excists).

IMO you should not do that but use unique names.
