Save Project Master / Template as "New - Project"

I learned that it is possible to set After Effects to always open a Template when you create a new file.

Tutorial: Here's How (and Why) You Should Create an After Effects Project Template

Thats super helpful for us since we want to use the same bin-structure for all projects.

I did not find this possibility in Premiere however. Is this possible with Premiere too?

Thanks, Matt

You can make a project with all the bins you want and give this project a unique name.

When wanting to use this project, open and do a Save as.

You could always just save your project template to a more visible location, such as your desktop or a root of your projects directory. Also, if you open your template fairly recently, it will be in your Open Recent list, both from the Welcome screen as well as your dropdown (File > Open Recent). So, open the project itself rather than create new every time.

You could also go one step further and write-protect your .prproj file with your OS to ensure you can't accidentally goof up the template itself. (I forget how to do it on Mac, but for Windows it's right-click > Properties > General > tick Read-Only.

This is what I did for work. Write-protect a project as my template and open it each day I start a fresh project. Has worked without issue for me.

A New project will always be just that.

A template requires one to Open a project.

In Premiere Pro, there is no way to mix up the two operations.

Thank you Ann.  However - This is the way we are doing it so far.

As mentioned above, in AE there is a way to load this "template"-file every time you create a "new file".

I would be super thankful if there is such a possibility in Premiere as well.

We have a couple of editors working on different projects and this would ensure that we always work on the same structure.
