Saved satablized clips before editing

Is there a down side to running the Warp effect on a clip, exporting it, then using the stablized version to edit the clip? I just hate working on a jittering clip!

I don't think so other than a little bit of lower resolution, but the clip isn't still jittering if you add the warp stabilizer effect, right? So, why not continue to work on this instead of lowering the resolution before editing the clip?

That makes sense, the loss of resolution I mean but I'm not really clear with regards to your recommendation.

I sounds like you saying don't do it, it's not worth the loss in resolution. I understand that, because the warp effect is a resource grabber, it should not be applied until the end. Sounds like editors mostly learn to work with disctracting, jittery, clips. Is that really how experienced editors do it?
