Savied my project and when I open again all my progress is gone

I am trying to learn Premeire Pro. I got my first two clips made, saved the project and when I opened it again all my clips were gone. It was as if I had done nothing. What am I doing wrong? I have tried this a few times and it always disappears.

I partially answered my own question. I was trying to open the file from the recent ly opened dropdown. I found it saved elsewhere and was able to open the file where I left off. Now I am wondering why it wouldn't just open from recently open files? In Photoshop and Illustrator I have never had that happen.
