scale keyframe changes to linear when changing it's value in a transform layer. Is there a way to turn this funtion off?

I have a handful of presets that zoom or pan that I like to make minor changes to depending on the video. After updating to 26.0 changing the scale value under these presets will change the key frames back to linear and completely mess up the zoom.

Is there a way to turn this off in the preferences, or maybe a way to prevent it from happening?
