Question

SCC file import is not accurate

I often have to retime closed captions so I import my feature and import my SCC then get them so that they are in sync. then export both out.

What I'm finding seems to occur when music symbols are used.  If the caption has one line of text/lyrics and a music symbol at the head and at the end, the end symbol is cut out on import. At times it also removes text within the line.

Perhaps the caption functioning is not meant for this simple use.  WhenI reported this to support they asked if it does the same thing when I'm creating captions.  That's really is not the point of what I'm doing.  I'm simply tryign to import an scc file that I know is good, re-time it to picture, then re-export.

Does anyone know if there are preferances for how captioning is handled in Premiere on import?

Thanks!

Hi @Dan WR,

I got your message. I hope you're doing OK today. Have you solved the issue, or are you still having problems? Have you tried 23.6 yet? If not, try it and let us know if it works better. I hope the community can assist you.

Thanks,
Kevin

I also have the same issue. I tried to NDF timeline and DF timeline. The beginning is okay but it started unsynching and at the end of the show (this is 2 hour movie) I have 8 seconds of delay. My Premiere is 2023. 2.0.
