Scene detection from tape

i have 40 mini dv tapes and about 12 Vhs tapes to capture and store in my filing system for use in video. Can PP,Lightroom or Bridge be used

I have NOT used either, but many say to try these for SD capture http://windv.mourek.cz/ or http://www.exsate.com/products/dvcapture/

I HAVE used http://www.scenalyzer.com/ and it works well, but breaks capture into 4Gig chunks

-which has not been a problem for me, since joining the 4Gig files on the timeline works well

-I have NOT used the scene detect function in scenalyzer, so don't know how well it works

You wont have scene detection when capturing vhs.

You can use Premiere Pro to capture the mini DV if you have a Firewire input on your computer.

To capture the VHS, you will need to add hardware that you can connect the VCR deck to has a Firewire output like this:
