Screen goes black, can't click anything

I'm using Premiere pro CC 2017 with the latest update and lately, I can't do anything at all in my projects. I'll start with basic stuff that I've always done, fading to black, filling in audio, using the ultra key etc. and after 10 minutes of use, parts of the screen black out and when I click on some menus they come back but I can't click on anything in my workspace. I can't finish my projects at all! 

I've searched through the forums but I haven't found anything that's worked yet. Does anyone know of a solution to this??

huh, I never see people putting all that in their posts so I didn't realize you needed so much info to diagnose...

windows 10, i7-6700HQ 2.6GHZ, 16G RAM, 64bit OS x-64 based processor

Project size: 25kb.

Failed fixed attempts:

  • Removed all video effects
  • Uninstalled Premiere and reinstalled
  • cleared media cache

If you need any more info let me know, i'll need to dig for it.


Update or roll back your video driver directly from the card manufacturer's site.
