Second Monitor Output issue with Premiere Pro (13.1)

I have just updated to Premiere's latest update, 13.1 and now experiencing a problem with my second monitor output, basically it does not work.

I'm using the latest drivers for my graphics card, Nvidia 1080Ti. Tried switching on & off the Mercury Transmit and nothing, reinstalled and nothing.

Everytime I click to enable the 2nd monitor, Premiere keeps taking the tick out when I go back into the Playback prefrences.

So I reverted back to the previous build and low and behold it works fine.

Why is it every update Adobe release there is always a problem with Premiere!

If someone could let me know if there is a fix for the problem I'm getting with the latest build, I would appreciate.

    Hi Wayne G52,

We have a newer version of Premiere Pro (13.1.3) available for download. Please let us know if it's working properly in the newer version.

    Thanks,

    Sumeet

Yep have the same problem. No issues in any previous version. However After Effects works for me with my third display but Premiere won't work. So bad. Sort it out Adobe!!!!

As noted above, this is an acknowledged bug, and we're all waiting for the next patch to be dropped. Which they never announce before it drops. Sigh.

Titanic not a good analogy but amusing at least.

I am still bungling my way through a final solution to calibration land where everything is perfect ( for me ). I'm really close, after all these years ( just for rec 709 2.4 ).  Have to do a few more things to fine tune the video monitor out of SDI and then I'll finally be done ( save current settings on usb, do factory reset, do color bars and grayscale, blue channel only adjustment, etc etc. ). I don't know what the monitor was used for last ( commercial, music video, or movie ) and the tweaks done to it are anyone's guess.

It was either Beyoncé MTV or BulletProof Monk, or whatever.

Finally figured out how to use targets downloaded from color edge for the eizo primary ( they look like xml files).

Using resolve though, so it's a different animal than new PPro stuff .. as I only have cs6 creative suite in adobe stuff.

Next step is to get out and shoot something …  ANYTHING at this point.  Been a LONG Winter ( and now flood season ). Just like the Titanic passengers the cows in Iowa are now wearing life jackets !

Neil, I'm not sure that's a good analogy. Less people freaking out and waving their arms and screaming for help is not a standard I'd like to bet an update has been ( generally speaking ) successful.

After all those who went down with the Titanic, there was a lot less noise in the water, and a lot of dead bodies floating around (if they even had life jackets ).  A nice quiet place is not necessarily proof of success.

That is actually a very good 'barometer' ... the online comments in the application forums and other sources.

And holds up very well across apps and companies. Especially with such large user-bases as say Photoshop and Premiere have.

Being as the users are all still very much alive, of course, and the user base is apparently growing, the analogy of the Titanic is a bit ... questionable.

But of course, when you're the person with the bug, it's not always of massive comfort to find that only a few others are joining you in your misery, frustration, and at times ... rather nasty fits of anger. Been there done that with this and many other apps over the last 40 years or so. Yea, I know that feeling well.

But I do maintain enough rationality to recognize that although my pain is real, it is not necessarily universal. Like ... not that many have full Tangent Elements panels like mine ... which don't work properly with multiple levels of Lumetri on a clip. Sigh. Supposedly, it's on the list, but ain't made the last couple drops.

Is that a HUGE problem for me? Yes. Totally.

But across the user-base, well ... not so much.

If it can help, I finaly found a turnarround (for my case)...

I have changed the DP (display port) cable on the graphic card into the second output (in state of the first output).

Like this, the monitor list is inverted in preference/monitor output list.

It work for me like this.

    Hi,

Same issues here, after updating to 13.1 (build 193)

I have the main monitor Dell 34" UltraSharp U3417W (3440x1440) connected in Display Port, and the second a 22" Phillips (1920x1080) connected in DVI (on a Nvidia GTX 1080 TI)

Updating Nvidia doesn't solve, inverting screen 1 to 2 doesn't solve.

On think I notice is : if I select the 22" as main screen and put the software on it, I can't output video to the 34"...

    but there is non-sences

I cannot have anymore output on the 22"

Other thing, I have also a USB additionnable screen (Asus Zenscreen for laptop), if I connect it (as a third screen) I can select it and have a output to it.

Please Adobe solve ASAP this issues ! We have several production in progress, and it's very annoying to have no more output monitor !

    Thanks

Please post this over on the bug/features website that is listed on the Overview page of this forum near the top.

This forum is primarily a user to user help system. That site is to get data directly into the engineer's system and to the upper managers who monitor issues via a collated list. It raises the attention for something when more posts are filed there.

    Thanks for the suggestion...

But did you already tried to submit a "bug report" ?

Adobe website is a "gaz factory"....

and page after page...we didn't finaly find any way to "submit" anythink to us, and we just loose time !

I believe that adobe does everything possible to not be contacted (for not said "disturbed" by her customer).

OK. I will. I don't usually get sarcastic. I had to look up on internet if your card comes in a laptop. Probably NOT yet. If so, it's the chip only, which would mean the (probably) INTEL chip would override your Nvidia chip for normal display. In which case you have to work with the O.S. of windows (if that's what you HAVE , which you didn't say )… because you can CHOOSE in the O.S. how to handle more than one monitor.

THEN there's the Nvidia controls for primary and secondary monitor settings..

Then there's the resolution issues ( full HD for both monitors or what ?? what are your settings ).

Then there's the version number of your NVIDIA driver ….sometimes they need to be updated to work properly with NEW updated programs.

There's a LOT OF STUFF going on, so sorry for being tired of hearing the same old story without getting the courtesy of saying WHAT YOU HAVE to begin with...
