Question

Sequence becomes a black box when added to timeline

Hello! My video clips aren't showing up in the timeline section of premiere pro. The sequence is just a black box and I'm unable to edit it in any way, but it still shows up in the preview box. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

so you load your source clip in the source monitor, find your first frame, mark in and out (which will be a one frame edit0 at the position of the playhead in the program monitor without an in or out marked in the timeline.  The sequence settings should match your source settings (I think)...  Then drag from the source monitor to the program monitor (or to the timeline)...  If you're not working this way, describe your workflow step by step...  I'm sure we can figure this out...  There are lots of ways to do this...

I'm trying to put individual frames in the time line for video. It's a stop motion project. Basically what happens when I try to put those frames in the timeline individually or all together it just creates a black box where the sequence should be. I hope this makes a little more w.

Not sure I understand... You're trying to add a pre-edited sequence to a new timeline?  Have you tried loading the sequence into the source monitor and then editing from there?
