Sequence Lags When Tracks Are Locked

I've been pulling my hair out over this issue forever. I am a habitual sequence locker. It seems like intermittently over the years I have had unexplained lag when playing sequences, making it nearly impossible at times me to do anything quickly.

Well... after I upgraded to v14.0.0 on my 3.5 GHz 6-Core Intel Xeon E5 runninf Mac OS 10.15.2 I was really bogged down.

The fix? I sometimes lock certain tracks when editing, especially when I have a fixed music track and am playing with other stuff or will lock the entire sequence before playing back... Anyway I FINALLY realized that any time I locked a track, my sequence would lag. Unlock it and things started blazing!

I hope someone else can find joy in this workaround, and I hope that Adobe will fix the issue so that locked and unlocked tracks receive equal treatment in future versions!
