Sequence Markers get deleted whenever I cut things from timeline, regardless of Marker Settings

In Premiere Pro v26.2, I have markers on my timeline that I want to keep, but whenever I cut stuff from the timeline (using keyboard shortcuts or the Program window), any markers in the are I cut also get deleted (even when they are at the border between the selected and non-selected areas). Whenever I search for how to stop this, the instructions usually include unchecking “Ripple Sequence Markers,” but the Sequence Markers get deleted regardless of whether that setting is checked or not.
