Question

Sequence not saved

I created a project and spent 8 hours editing and saving often. My Mac did an update and had to restart, and Premier asked me if I wanted to save my project before it closed, I clicked save. When I reopened my project, there was nothing in the timeline. I searched a lot of forums to looked in the project panel, but there are only the clips I imported and no sequence clip. I have tried reopening and importing from the auto-saves, but for some reason, my timeline was not saved with the project or any of the auto-saves.

I did a test and dragged random clips over to the timeline and saved it as a new project and it worked fine.

What am I doing wrong? Do I need to save the timeline specifically or make sure that I'm in the timeline box when I click save?

Can you post a screenshot of the Project Panel in list view rather than icon view?

I was hoping that there might be a folder hiding the sequence, but it looks like you're out of luck.

Did you do a Finder search of all your drives for the project file or autosaves?

You may have opened a previous version.

I know it won't help now, but can you set your Mac up to only do updates when you choose to do so?

I did do a search and I checked every file. None of them have the sequence I created. I allowed the update on my Mac, and Premier quit, but the file was saved multiple times. Do you think the update had some effect on it?

It may have restarted before the save was completed.
