Question

Sequence settings - Timebase only in frames or personalized frame rate with decimals

Hi,

I have 2 synchronized videos with a frame rate of 15.123002. I joined the two videos (one next to the other) making a sequence, and I put multiple markers on them. However, I just realized that the time displayed in premiere is not correct, as it somehow converts it to whichever time rate you pur in the timebase of sequence settings. Not only that but it also alters the number of frames (if put at 15 frames per second, for example, it gives 8956 frames instead of 9075). But whenever you change this value, the markers are preserved, which tells me that the original time/frame position, is still preserved.

Would it be possible somehow to obtain the real time of where the markers are in the original video? Otherwise, export the markers with the value of the frame number of the original video (total of 9075 and not less). I really need the original time, for synchronization. I think that maybe this could be done by working on the sequence without a timebase, just frames or being able to edit the framerate to the decimals.

Thank you beforehand for your help!

File is 15.2 fps, sequence 10 fps, 640x480 in a 1920x1080 frame and an odd preview codec is asking for trouble.

They are not next to each other but superimposed making it a splitscreen which is something quite different.

Variable framerate can cause all kinds of issues.

If the footage is indeed variable framerate convert to constant framerate with Handbrake or Shutter Encoder before bringing into Premiere.

Cannot check the VFR as file is online.
