Serious buzzing in between audio clips

On the audio track where I have a Dynamics effect applied (compression, gate, limiter), there is an alien-like buzzing that only appears in between the audio clips that are playing on that track. Sometimes it doesn't come up, in other gaps it's extremely audible. Has anyone experienced this before and know what might be causing it? This is the first instance where this has come up for me.

Running latest version of Premiere Pro CC

iMac (late 2015)

3.3 GHz Intel Core i5

32 GB 1867 MHz DDR3

AMD Radeon R9 M396X 4096 MB

Correct answer Meg The Dog

This problem has appeared for me in the latest release of Premiere Pro. As a workaround, I place a silent audio clip in all the "empty" spaces on the timeline (the space between clips that have the effects applied) and that seems to eliminate the loud buzzing.

Hope this fixed soon.

I just started having trouble with this in Premiere Pro 2023. It is unreasonable.

Thanks Meg, that seems to be working so far. My guess is that the track mixer is trying to apply effects to the gaps and thus creating this noise. Ridiculous.
