Question

Serious Error Too Frequent

This is a rhetorical question to start - is the error "Premiere Pro has encountered a serious error..." on a timer?

Seriously, I have not used a version of this app where I have "encountered" so many crashes. It seems as though it's set to crash every hour.

Premiere Pro will crash while I'm sitting talking on the phone and just looking at it, not doing any thing with it.

I rarely post anything in forums, but this crashing in the 2018 upgrade to Premiere is absurd.

Anyone out there having this issue?

Venting is fine... help requires more information

    -Troubleshooting https://forums.adobe.com/thread/2261475

-Premiere Pro Video Editing Information FAQ http://forums.adobe.com/message/4200840

-WITH Exactly which version of Premiere Pro

-WITH exactly what are the codec details of what you are editing?

-WITH what effects are you using with the video?

-WITH exactly what export settings did you use for your output?

-WITH the brand/model graphics adapter (ATI or nVidia or ???) and exact driver version

-Do not count on Windows to be fully up to date when it comes to device drivers

-Go to the vendor site to be sure you have an updated driver for your graphic adapter

    •nVidia Driver Downloads http://www.nvidia.com/Download/index.aspx?lang=en-us

    •ATI Driver Autodetect http://support.amd.com/en-us/download/auto-detect-tool

Thanks John for your attention. I am just venting at the moment. I'm in a weekly series of several productions and just haven't taken the time to call or reach out to a tech. This isn't my first time around this mountain and dread the process of hooking up with a tech, or in some cases several techs, to resolve my issue(s). At this moment my issues are not crippling, just annoying, slowing down my work. Just the fact that I have to be typing this means I am not doing my work.

This thread is only about the 2018 version of PPro (v12).

I am a user of Adobe products, primarily Premiere, for about 10 years. I've used many systems in that time both Windows and Mac. My current system is an iMac (Retina 5K, 27-inch, Late 2015), 4 GHz Intel Core i7, 32 GB 1867 MHz DDR3, AMD Radeon R9 M390 2 GB. My only plugins are transitions by FilmImpact, which are up-to-date. I have a main external work drive, GTech G-Speed Studio R 12 TB, Thunderbolt 2, and a 3 TB GTech Thunderbolt 2 drive that handles auxiliary files for Media Encoder and AE renders.

I have been using this computer since the beginning of 2017, using the 2017 version of PPro, virtually without any issues whatsoever.

The codec I typically edit with is Apple ProRes 422 HQ. I output to several different formats and codecs.

If more information is needed, I will oblige. Thanks.
