Seriously...this has got to stop!

I just sat down to try and catch-up on some backlog and I spent 40 minutes relearning how to do a simple text title. This is RIDICULOUS! I was just getting used the overly complicated "Essential Graphics" and now Adobe has managed to make it even more obtuse and difficult. I do not have the time to constantly relearn simple tasks like titling and NO it is not an improvement in any way!

The Properties Panel will give you exactly the same options as the Ess. Graphics did.

I understand the frustration. But the program cannot remain the same in all respects as it will then die.

Yea, it's new, and wow, it's different.

BUT ... a ton of users wanted the change to fit with other Adobe apps as the use of the Properties panel to set things in a "context aware" process has been 'normal' in several of the major design apps for some time.

The change surprised a lot of Premiere users, but it also means some other changes can be made by users.

Such as ... I've been working with nine custom workspaces for years. With the change to the properties panel, I can probably ditch three or four of them as unneeded at this point.

That said, it is incredibly "context aware" ... what you click on controls what appears in the Properties panel. And it ain't always obvious.

Everyone's mileage always varies ...

Since I have several decades of experience managing software development I
understand that the only people who care about things like "UI Consistency"
are UI engineers. Actual users learn who to accomplish their tasks in a
tool regardless of the purity if the interface and any major changes have a
negative impact on their workflow.

In conclusion, once I get out from under my current backlog I am going to
spend some time exploring alternatives. $800/yr. is a lot of money for me
to spend on a tool I only use for local volunteer work. Especially when
that money is being spent on changes that negatively impact my workflow
while the major bug I recently hit (the program couldn't properly ingest
Canon Video Files) took over 6 months to fix.
