Question

Set the start time of a sequence by first clip with Extendscript

Hey everyone!

I'm trying to work on a script for Premiere Pro 2022 (in Windows) that, in general terms, imports a video clip and creates a sequence where that clip is inserted. One of the important things I need is for the sequence's start time to match the media start of the clip, but I'm having trouble achieving that.

I managed to modify the sequence's start time using the 'setZeroPoint' method, but I couldn't figure out how to extract the clip's initial timecode and convert it to ticks to feed into the 'newZeroPoint'.

Any ideas on how I can solve this? Or perhaps am I overcomplicating things, and there's a method to resolve it directly when inserting the clip into the sequence?

Thanks in advance!

Laura
