Severely slow and lagging premiere pro when working on small sized projects

Hi, i’m currently working on a small sized premiere pro project. 768x128 pixels (15 second duration)  with just moving texts and video assets downloaded from vecteezy.  Premiere pro lags and is very slow, like simply moving the text or playback would take 20-30 seconds to actually do its thing. i’m not sure what the issue is. My premiere works ok when handling 2k to 4k video resolution so i’m not sure why it’s very slow on small projects.

Intel i5 14450HX

RAM 64GB

GPU RTX 4060

    Additional Information:
    The assets i’m using are actually 2k-4k resolution (i just make the scale smaller to fit into the dimension). Also, i’m using PNG files that are 1000x1000 pixels (also scaling it down to fit)
