Shared projects in a production not saving but auto save is working

Post team in a 10G NAS shared storage environment for team collaboration on projects/productions(we solely use Productions now). There are about 4 MacBook Pros, an M3 Ultra Mac Studio and a M4MacMini. An animator is on windows but the issue wasn’t there. All wired in on 10G.

The Production is setup properly and “to spec” per the best practices. Everyone knows the key aspects of Productions, etc,,,, BUT last night I myself got on the M3 Ultra to work on something. I had to manually close a couple projects that were “locked” which happens sometimes but I spent like 3 hours working in 2 projects. I saved all - as I always do. I closed all projects then closed the production. 

TODAY I come in and its like I was never even working on it last night but I found the auto saved project which got me 99% of the work back. WHY did this happen and HOW do I keep it from happening again? 

(Addtnl note: I found on the M4 Mac Mini with a large feature film production in progress, many of the folders were either doubled or not working at all. I didn’t think much of it since I dont use that machine much but I wonder if that issue is related or similar?)
