No, there is no equivalent in Lumetri to SpeedGrade's "shotmatch" button, which typically would get me about 85% to 90% of the way "there". Nor does PrPro have a full 2-up program monitor capability which also makes shot-matching vastly easier.
- You can use PrPro CC 2015.2 and that still works in "Direct Link" mode with SpeedGrade 2015.1.
- You can use an EDL from PrPro 2017 to import into Sg 2015.1 and then export media out of Sg after grading.
- You can do EDL, XML, or AAF from PrPro and use with Resolve or other grading apps. "Round-tripping" can be a bit complicated.
- You can set up a custom workspace in PrPro, with a separate window on your second monitor set for Reference and Playback monitors only. You can then use the timeline in the Reference monitor to select a clip to match to, and use the Playback monitor and main timeline area to select the clip/frame you wish to modify via Lumetri to match what is showing in the Reference monitor.
There is one other unofficial way to quickly get from PrPro 2017 to SpeedGrade and back. User Patrick Zadrobilek of Austria created a small app that is very useful. It takes the header from a prproj project file, auto-saves/increments the file, and changes one character in the file so that SpeedGrade 2015.1 sees the file as an appropriate file for it to work in "Direct link" mode. After opening and working in SpeedGrade, you save the file before exiting SpeedGrade, then drop the file onto Patrick's little app again ... and this time it auto-upconverts the file back to 2017 in the header, so it can be opened and worked in PrPro 2017 as always.
I was one of two users that figured out how to manually do this, another user posted how to do it with Mac, and I figured out how to do it on PC. Patrick then figured out how to write an app automating the process, which is only PC, by the way. Search for Ntown Productions, it's their PrProBCC app. Again, this applet is PC only, and will not work with any AfterEffects comps on a sequence.
SpeedGrade will not be brought back, but ... the former creator of Iridas ... which became SpeedGrade on purchase by Adobe, is Patrick Palmer ... who is now the project manager for video applications for Adobe, which means, head of PrPro. He's very good with color, and a very inventive guy. I would suggest sending in Feature requests for shotmatching and other improvements to color in PrPro.
