Question

Should Premiere training come before After Effects?

I am training myself in Premiere and After Effects. Is it logical to learn Adobe Premiere FIRST, and then take up Adobe After Effects? Thanks for your thoughts!

Are you learning just the applications Premiere and After Effects or is this your first venture into learning the concepts of editing and motion graphics?

PeruBob is correct ... these are very different apps, doing very different things. So there's not a leading-path from one to the other.

I think getting a bit of a start in editing is probably a better over-all start though ... then add in the VFX stuff from AfterEffects is a typical path. But ... if you're more interested or driven by the fx side, well ... go after Ae also!

You can learn them both at the same time. They are very different.  AE does have a much steeper learning curve.
