The latest udpates has slowed down my workstation considerably to the point where I don't know when Premiere is done or not doing whatever the heck it's doing. I'm using a macbook pro 16 2019 w 32Gb ram. I'm editing 1 4k video in MP4 format. I've made FHD proxies and linked. I'm adding 2 lumetri filters and one with moving masks with a few keyframes. It shouldn't take 30s to act on it in the background but it is.

I have to use the activity monitor to see when it drops below 100%. I don't KNOW when it's DONE doing whatever the heck it is doing... Can someone within the Premiere programming add a status bar to the bottom or top right to tell me when I can expect it to 'safe to run' or play? I have to cycle Fx mute or advance a frame to see when I can get my mask control back. If I knew the program was busy, then give me an option to lock the mouse, see when I can expect to regain control? I have issues stopping a 2x playback in full screen mode, I stop, back it becomes unresponsive for over a minute playing audio in the background and I have to force kill it.

I have GPU enabled. I have playback at 1/4 with proxies enabled. Am I missing something on why this is so slow when a year ago I could edit 3 4k video multicam with ease??

I should also mention I'm using SSD internal as the scratch disk and an external SanDisk extreme portable drive for the footage.
