Question

show track names when tracks are minimized to work on big projects

Dear Premiere Team,

Can we please please have track names?

Such a simple change with such a big impact -

I minimize all my tracks and know what's on them.

like normal setup...
Why? Cause it gives structure, disciplines Editors to sort the edit from the start and makes them aware of what goes where and how we call it.

This is a necessity if you want to lift premiere to a teamwork and collaboration tool!!!

PLEASE ADD!!

Thank you

here an example - even without knowing anything you know what goes where and that this is a timeline/sequence....

If you customize the track you can have exactly what you want.

Right click on the trackheader: customize and drag the icon where you want them. Track name is V1 or A1.

brilliant! - it's a bit buggy, but it works - if we now could have track colors we are completely happy, and the ex-avid editors stop nagging 🙂

I agree this would be a nice feature,    You can name tracks, but they only display if the track height is sufficient.   use the expand all tracks command with the timeline active and then control click on the right side of the track patch panel and you'll see the rename option.  I don't think either one of us understand the complexities of programming involved in adding and or modifying a feature so don't get your hopes up...  but a quick search of this forum for "feature requests" turns up this link
