Question

slow export - and failed renders

Premiere Pro / Media Encoder 2026 – Significantly Slower Export Times

Exporting in Premiere Pro and Media Encoder 2026 takes up to four times longer than it did in the 2025 versions.

We reinstalled the 2025 versions in an attempt to restore the previous export speeds, but the problem persists. Exporting is still significantly slower than before.

Additionally, many exports fail without successfully completing.

We have also noticed that projects take longer to open and that video files take longer to load when opening a project.

Sometimes, failed exports are not recorded in the Media Encoder log. Instead, Media Encoder simply shuts down without displaying an error message or warning.

Audio also needs to be re-rendered every time we export.

We would like to understand what is causing these performance issues and how to resolve them.

As far as the export failures. Have you turned Windows sleep time off so that the system doesn’t time out on you?
