Slow render & crashing in ME Version 12, build 202

I sent a 50 minute program, ProRes 1080i/30 to ME with an order for a full res encode, plus a blue ray H264 and a DVD m4v and another H264 High nitrate copy.

Left it to render overnight and it crashed.

Today I sent it to only encode the standard def DVD.  After about 2 and a half hours the program crashed/failed.

This is the info from the crash:

Export Error

Error compiling movie.

Accelerated Renderer Error

Unable to produce frame.

Writing with exporter: MPEG2-DVD

Writing to file: /Volumes/Rugged-1/NP 33 files/Encodes/NP-33 FM Master_1.m2v

Writing file type: dvd

Around timecode: 00;53;34;06 - 00;53;34;22

Rendering at offset: 3214.211 seconds

Component: MPEG2-DVD of type Exporter

Selector: 9

Error code: -1609629695

Does anyone have a suggestion of what is causing this?

Thx...jim

    HI Jim Watt,

Thanks for the note.  I solved the problem by breaking the show up into the 12 segments of the program, then exported each segment.  This all went normallly.  I then reassembled the program and exported the full length show.  This too went fine.

I followed most of the suggestions in the referral link before I posted my question.  What is a real problem in addition to export issue I posted is my ME keeps crashing with no explanation.  Even when I did the successful exports of my movie to the various formats I needed, the ME would crash after doing the exports.  One time both ME and PP closed with no indication there was a problem and no acknowledgement that a crash had occurred.  That was really weird.  It was also sometimes crashing during the failed exports.

My presumption is that the Media Cache for ME and PP are all in the same media cache.  Is that correct?  If not I haven’t been able to find a media cache just for ME.

Should I uninstall and reinstall ME and PP?

    Thanks...jw

It's giving you a specific time-code where the problem happens. Go to that spot, and perhaps rebuild it.

    Delete the cache.

    Try to export that segment.

Good suggestions.  I broke the show into segments and exported them individually and there were no issues.  It’s like the ME was choking for one reason or another.  I’ll dump the cache which could likely be the problem.

    Thx...JW
