So, how can we get Premiere to stop having issues? I'm about to switch to Davinci

Several times in the past week, I have been having constant issues with premiere pro just completely trashing my progress and I'm at my wits end today. Does anyone know why a long clip was automatically dragged over half of my project? Deleting all the clips that were there and in their place? Premiere crashed, and when I re-opened my project, there was the clip just randomly there, overwriting over half of my project that needs to be done tomorrow. Yesterday, I even manually saved my project before closing it for the day. When I opened it this morning, ALL my color grading was deleted and it was back to the original. That was hours worth of work. None of the auto-saves ever work. It always says "this project cannot be opened because it is damaged" when I try every single one. So I worked on re-doing everything today. Now the clip overwriting thing happened and I also could not recover any auto-saves. The only thing I could open was how the project was opened this morning. AGAIN erasing all my progress. I cannot afford to have no progress after two days of putting hours into my project. I hate that I have to pay monthly for my projects to lose progress frequently, having to spend more hours of my time fixing their crap. I don't know if there's a solution to this but I need Premiere to chill with the bugs and honestly I want a refund because this is absolutely ridiculous and a waste of time.

Thanks for the responses, however my computer has been working seamlessly. And quite frankly, I just don't have time for troubleshooting cause I'm not about to let this happen again. Not worth the time I've wasted already. My PC build is not changing anytime soon. I already own Davinci so I am just going to end my long term relationship with PP. Although I'm apparently one of the few that have been having issues, 4 out of 5 editor friends have made the switch to Davinci due to issues that couldn't be resolved. Seems like the best option I have, as there's no reason why my computer can't handle what I do, when everything was so smooth until recently.

thanks guys and ladies, I so appreciate the time you took!! ✌️

Before you go, press Shift at launch. From the Reset Options dialog box, delete the media cache. I hope that helps.

Thanks,
Kevin

Have you had any formal Premiere training? Reading over your post it feels like this might just be some basic errors that might be helped with some good training.

Not any recent training. I attended film school for 4 years starting in late 2013 and have used Premiere Pro exclusively since 2015. (First year and a half I was using both FCP and PP then decided to commit to PP especially since I had planned on moving from Mac to PC). Feels like a sham if I've gone through all these years using it just fine just to find out I need "training" due to issues I've had only this past month. Thanks for your response!

You're working with UHD long-GOP 422 10 bit media, which is a hefty load on the system. As you didn't post the CPU, I don't know how many cores you have. Or what effects you're using or even the build of Premiere.

The entire SSD for gaming is a bit of a question, as many games and game systems install drivers and utilities into the system for pumping up gaming use. But those things normally are very detrimental to any video postvapp operation.

Next, if you're running everything video on the two Nvme drives, how are you using them? What is each used for?

in the future, to find the best place to post your message, use the list here, https://community.adobe.com/

p.s. i don't think the adobe website, and forums in particular, are easy to navigate, so don't spend a lot of time searching that forum list. do your best and we'll move the post (like this one has already been moved) if it helps you get responses.

Thank you, I couldn't spend much time figuring out how to get it here.

The Help menu has an option to post here. That would have been your fastest way.

Most users aren't having troubles so we need to sort why you are. Troubleshooting starts with data.

Your OS, full hardware details including GPU driver, how many drives of what type and how attached to your computer, such as internal or external. What sort of storage processes or patterns, such as everything on one drive, or using several drives for different things.

The media you use, in detail, the format/codec, framesize and framerate, made by what?

Tell us that and we can probably get a good start on sorting your problems.
