so I see that the new beta includes SRT support. What does this mean?

back in the day FCP7 had a great feature IChat Preview Theater I think it was called that allowed you to stream your source or program monitor to anyone if you both had decent internet.  It was fantastic.  Of course Apple abandoned FCP7 and then broke the feature in an OS update a few years later.    Spent hours trying to stream stuff via zoom using an hdmi output from my editing machine to another computer which saw my hdmi output as a "webcam" and it was never really was successful...  So will SRT make this possible and if so, what will be involved in implementing this?  And will it cost the proverbial arm and leg?  down to my last of both.
