SOLUTION: Unable to Add Captions - [Branched & moved from 2012 topic]

If you can't add captions, you have to right-click the Essential Graphics panel and choose to reset to the saved layout. It's as simple as that.

 

Mod note: Edited for content. You were referring to a post about Premiere Pro v.12.0 captions. The captions feature has been completely rewritten since then. That is why the topic was locked.

the community appreciates it!!!!

I ran in to this hiccup in the 2020 version im running! (all prior to 2021)

 

it was really annoying but such a simple fix - surprised no one at Adobe solved it for the community and locked it so no one else could...

(13k view unsolved locked thread)
