Question

Some very strange things happen when working with a multi-camera

When I work with a multi-camera sequence, I have cameras A, B, and C in each separate sequence. I sync them and edit in multicam mode. When I want to make a change to the Camera A sequence and switch to it, the Undo and Redo functions immediately become unavailable—they only work in multicam sequence mode. Likewise, the Lumetri Color mode is unavailable; it’s simply disabled. Also, sometimes—though not often—the preview stops after 1 second and the interface starts to lag. However, this problem doesn’t occur in the multicamera sequence. In other words, the sequences with cameras A, B, and C don’t work correctly, while the multicamera sequence works fine. Why are the developers tormenting us like this?I've already replaced the equipment and installed hundreds of updates—but the problem remains.

Before we can help, we need to understand your setup. Why is each camera in its own sequence before you add them to a multi-camera source sequence?

I'm also not sure which sequence you're referring to at each point in your post. To make sure we're all on the same page, here are the terms we can use:

    • Nested sequences: the individual sequences for Camera A, Camera B, and Camera C.
    • Multi-camera source sequence: the sequence created with Create Multi-Camera Source Sequence, which contains all the camera angles.
    • Target sequence: the sequence where the multi-camera source sequence is placed, and where the cutting happens.

For each problem you described, could you tell us which of these you're working in when it happens?

It would also help to see a screenshot of the full application window, with the Timeline and Lumetri Color panel visible.
