Speech to text - Cloud service only?

I'm glad to see those with early access to Speech-to-text enjoying the new feature. I signed up, but I figure it will still be awhile before my request is reviewed.

My question for those who have it — and Adobe devs, if you're listening — is, will the Speech-to-text feature be available on a computer without internet access, or is this a Cloud service?

My job requires me to work in a non-networked environment. So, after my computer gets updated by an admin by connecting to the internet to get the lastest Cloud updates, control of my workstation is given back to me without any internet access.

I desperately need a Speech-to-text solution that does not require the internet, so I'm hoping someone can kindly shed some light on this. Thanks in advance.

SRH,
Sorry, you'll have to be connected to the internet. It's a Creative Cloud service. Others, like Transcriptive, also require this. I do not know of an "offline" speech to text workflow that interoperates with Premiere Pro. Apologies. Maybe someone else can offer better advice.

Thanks,
Kevin

Wow, thanks for the super quick response.

Well, this is dissappointing, but I had a feeling this would be the answer.

The size of the applications for doing this work is huge. Which is a large part of the reason this is normally an online service. The other thing I've been told is they constantly update the word base plus sound recognition codes. So yea, they don't tend to make them downloadable apps.

But when you've got air-gap security requirements for handling the media and project files, this is a total massive pain.
