I am a student learning Premiere Pro and when I tryed to make a speed ramp on my clip the percentage of speed is greyed out and I can not manipulate it. I have been trying to fix this issue for a while now and can't figure a way around it or how to fix it. Can someone help out? Before you ask, I have the clip selected.

You can't drag the speed percentage like you can with other effects.

To adjust the speed using Time Remapping in the Effect Controls panel:

  • Click the arrow next to Speed to expand its settings.
  • This will reveal a horizontal white line that represents speed. You can drag this line up or down between keyframes to increase or decrease the playback speed.

Keep in mind that adjusting Time Remapping in the Effect Controls panel can be challenging due to limited space. It's often easier to do this directly on the clip in the Timeline, where you can increase the track height for better visibility.

To enable Time Remapping in the Timeline, right-click the clip’s FX badge and choose Time Remapping > Speed.

Hi Newty12,

Thanks for the question and welcome to the forums. I can't see the contents of your motion tab but perhaps the clip is also scaled. In that case, you must nest the clip and then add the speed effect to the nested sequence. Try it and let us know if it works. I apologize for the frustration.

Thanks,
Kevin
