When I exported it everything seemed fine until it was done and it wiped out all my a video that  I spend 5 hrs on and replaced with a "Media Offline" video. Where did my video go?

Just curious here... Did you overwrite the video that you used to cut from with your new sequence and called it the same name in the same location?

I think so. I think and I am not sure but after playing around with it and trying to duplicate what happened that is what happened. When it asked me if I wanted to replace the original I thought it was saved version of the poor quality video so I said yes and what it did was overright the original and something happened during the export that damaged it.

Make a habit of not to overwriting files. You can always rename afterward.

Where did you place them?

Are they on an external drive that is not now connected or doesn't have a fixed drive letter?

Here is what I did. I opened Pro and dragged in a project of my desktop. I made several edits to the video and I finished and exported one but the quality was really bad so I went back exported it again and changed the export settings so that it would be Youtube quality it asked me if I wanted to replace the existing file and I said yes because I did not need the bad one.  Everything was going fine and I started working on other projects online. Then when I went back to see the final file I saw it was now a video of the "Medial Offline" Like I mentioned even where I had sliced the video was still there. One thing I didn't mention earlier is before I started the export I had emptied my trash. Any chance if the original was tossed in the trash say in the first hour of working on it that I would still be able to work and edit the project days later and then because I emptied it it was gone. It is the only thing I can think of that I actually did because I have edited videos and I do the same thing every time and never had a problem until I did this one

Your backup drive.

You need to do some housekeeping.

Your project shows as an auto save on the desktop. Should not be there.

Where is the media located?

Is it on an external drive that is not now connected or doesn't have a fixed drive letter?

Is it on OneDrive?

I was exporting to my desktop. And what I ended up getting was the video of "Media Offline" I don't see it anywhere else. When I did export it I had an earlier version of it and it asked if I wanted to replace it with the new one. I did not need the original as I was replacing it with the edited version so it wrote over the older saved version. It was never exported

onto an external drive.
