srt file not showing as available to import

Here is the folder which contains my srt file I would like to import to PP2017 - but it's not showing. WHY??? Note I've clicked 'all supported media' AND subrip but does it show up? Does it heck . . .

Here is the same folder viewed with explorer with the SRT file highlighted . . .

Am I missing something or is 2017 broken?

What a donut - I realise no that I'd not actually changed the file extension so it wasn't a SRT file but a txt file
