Question

Stop Auto Creating Audio Tracks

I have seen lots of people asking the same question but never a successful answer. I have a whole bunch of Multicam sequences that my AE has created all with 26 channels of audio. I want to keep those tracks in the multicam sequences in case I need to access them later on BUT I am only interested in the first two for now. When I try to edit them into my sequence (which I have set to 8 tracks of audio) Premiere automatically adds the other tracks into my sequence. I can manually go and delete thos track again but it's a huge PITA. Why isn't there a way to stop Premiere from creating those tracks? Like alt clicking the little + symbol to turn it into a - or a LOCK symbol so it doesn't happen.

Am I missing some obvious trick here? I know I can cull extra tracks in the Muticam setup but it's a lot of extra work when I have over 200 multicam sequences.

Here's this discussion of the frustration of Adobe Premiere Pro automatically creating audio tracks in the timeline going back to 2019.

What's it going to take to get this behavior changed or a preference?
