Stop timeline at current point, when using Play Around

When using Play Around, and then stopping the playback with Spacebar, the timeline returns back to the starting point. Even disabling "Return to Beginning When Resetting Playback" option in Preferences does not change this. Is it possible?

 

Alternatively is there a way to playback normally, but from a few seconds before?

To stop playback during the Play Around command and keep the playhead at the current frame, simply press the Left Arrow or Right Arrow key. This will interrupt playback and position the playhead exactly where you stopped it.
