Stuttering when using "Open Sequence in Timeline" feature

Hi, folks,

I use this function a LOT, as it mimics a key editing function in AVID.  The last year or so, frequently when I'm using this technique, playback (both video and audio) begins stuttering horrifically.  Once I close the Source Monitor sequence, the stuttering stops.  I've found that the faster I'm working, the more it begins happening.  Is anyone else having this problem?  I keep thinking that each new update may fix it, but it's still happening. 

Any ideas?  Thanks!
