Subclipping Issue

I have 10 portions of a seqeuence to subclip based upon my client's selects.  One by one, I marked the in and out points; then I hit ctrl u.  I named the subclip.  I then repeated the procedure for the next clip that my client wanted from the timeline.   When I went to play back each subclip, they are incorrect as they are not the portions of the sequence that I subclipped.  I verified that I did not grab the same timecode each time by going through the process another time --these incorrect subclips do not share the same timecode.

I have restarted my machine several times and even emptied the cache.  I am working with proxies but that is my standard MO and I have not had this problem before.  I have also verified that I am on the latest Premiere update.

Many thanks in advance for any assistance and/or advice!

Hi Russell,

I am doing the marking (and subclipping) on the timeline.

That is not possible. To my knowledge, you need to subclip in the Source Monitor or the Project panel in current versions of Premiere Pro.

Premiere would not allow me to subclip on that monitor.

I would adjust the way you create subclips and return with questions. Creating and playing clips in Premiere Pro

Thanks,
Kevin

Could you be more accurate in the description of your workflow? It is very difficult (at least for me) to follow what your are doing as described in your post.

Where are you doing the marking? On the timeline? Have you loaded the sequence to the source monitor and are marking the in and outs there? Are you match framing from the sequence in the timeline to load the source clip into the source monitor and then marking the ins and outs?

I then repeated the procedure for the next clip that my client wanted from the timeline.

Again, where are you doing this?

I’m sorry, I have no idea what this means.

If you can give a more detailed account of what your are doing, or post a video of what is happening, it would be tremendously helpful to get an answer for you.

I tired today to see if I could mark on the source monitor but Premiere would not allow me to subclip on that monitor.  Thus, I am not match framing.

I am trying to subclip on the timeline.  When I mark my in and out on the timeline (and then subclip) the subclip that playsback on the source monitor is incorrect e.g. if I created a subclip at 01:15:00:00, Premiere saves the clip at a different timecode -for example 01:05:00:00.

Thus Premiere is subclipping the wrong part of the footage.
