subtitles cut off when font over 50 / font won't move to bottom of screen

hello,

I imported an .srt file into premiere pro and when I try and adjust the position of the subtitles to the bottom of the screen, they do not go all the way to the bottom.  also, if I make the font size over 40, they subtitle text gets cut off on both sides.

any idea on why this is happening?
