If your subtitles are overlapping and hard to read, the issue is possibly with the Leading setting in the Properties panel.

To fix this:

1. Select the subtitle in the Timeline or Program Monitor.
2. In the Properties panel, look for the Leading setting under the Text section.
3. Set the Leading value to 0 or adjust it until the line spacing looks correct.
   
   

This should stop the text from overlapping and improve subtitle readability.
