Question

Switching to effects tab, or sometimes an other tab, will close all the panels and give me a gray screen.

Hello,

Everything was working fine and a few days ago, my premier pro started crashing when I would click on the effect tab. It just closes all the panels and the screen is gray. I tried reading on forums and I tried going in windows and resetting layout. When I did that, the effect tab worked and then the sound tab was crashing. I didn't find any clear way to fix this.

I tried uninstalling it and it is also updated.

I have a project due in 10 days and I am freaking out!

Please help me!!

Thank you !!

Tryingtoeditafilm99: What size monitor are you using? What OS and what version of Premiere Pro? I have noticed this but only when I'm using a very wide monitor, not my smaller MacBook Pro screen. (I'm on macOS 10.12.6 using Premiere Pro 2018, 12.0.1.) Usually Window > Workspaces > Reset to Saved Layout does the trick; or else select the workspace from the Workspaces menu directly rather than clicking the workspace name in the top bar.

When the you get the grey screen, go to the menu Window > Workspaces > Reset to Saved Layout.

As I wrote in my post, I tried that and It just made another tab have the same problem.

Hit the Reset to Save Layout a couple of times.
