synchronize audio for music takes forever with long clips

I'm trying to sync music tracks from different camera's but this takes forever.

Is this only for speech?

Using a part of a long clip in a short timeline of 40 sec it's not usable.

I think the sync option must first look in the timeline to the used parts of a clip.

I tested this with a music performance with three cams.

I separated each song and put all cams in the same timeline for a song.

So it's roughly in sync.

I want to use the audio sync option to perfectly sync al cams on audio.

In my case I had one overview camera track of about 1 hour. (other cams started at each song)

Now if cut one song of that camera to a seperate sequence, the sync option still want to analyze the whole

track instead of ony the part  put in the timeline. (So it seems..)

steps to repro

Drop a long audio recording with 2 audio tracks in your project

set the clip to 2 mono channels

cut a small peace to a timeline

unlink the clips

drag one track far out of sync

Select both audio clips and select synchronize

It seems that manual sync is much faster done then with syncronize function with music.
