Telecined rushes on Prores 4444XQ failing to export /create proxies

Question

Hi,I have two ProRes 4444 XQ files (4300 × 2540) that were created from a telecine transfer. The files are very large: one is 680 GB and the other is 110 GB.I'm having trouble working with both of them. I've tried creating proxies in Premiere, but the proxy generation fails every time. I've also tried exporting the files directly from Premiere. I eventually managed to export the smaller clip, but the larger one consistently fails.I haven't encountered this issue before with ProRes 4444 XQ media. Has anyone experienced something similar or can suggest a workaround? I need to generate proxies in order to continue editing.Thanks in advance. SpecsMac Studio2023Apple M2 Max64GbSonomaPP 2025

I have seen others with issues with 4444 XQ files, so you’re not alone. Not that everyone has the issues but it does happen. Both coming into Premiere and at times exporting out in that format.
