Text appears in incorrect order in Premiere Pro

Hi there,

When I use the type tool and type out an entire word, for example 'RUN', it appears on screen exactly as typed.

However, if I try to keyframe the type, so letters appear frame by frame, when I progress with the spelling of the word to the 3rd letter, premiere pro will flip the order of my typing, and so in this example it would start spelling 'RUN' as 'RNU'.

If I then try to delete the last letter, it will in fact delete the first letter, so I'm left with the spelling 'NU'

It doesn't just type out in the order I request it, or delete.

Why is that please?

Is there a setting to change where the cursor continues to type while using the key frame function? Because it seems my cursor jumps back a letter as soon as I get to spelling the third letter.
