Text based editing, imports, accessibility
I have several questions about text based editing.
1. Although I’ve found the check boxes for separating speakers and setting things up before importing, I’m not sure it’s actually being done. I still seem to be manuallly telling a transcript to create. If I highlight a sentence I want to put in a sequence, the Insert part never shows up as a floating option. I have to find insert paste in the menus and tell it to do this instead.
2. No idea how to keep files I need repeatedly at hand, such as intros, outros, sound effects etc. findable. Premiere starts me searching areas of the computer where I’m not sure where to find the files because navigation is different than my usual search. Is there a way to put these in the storage bin without it all importing as one file or is something else usually done instead?
3. Text based editing may be the only way I have to edit accessibly, so thank you. Love the idea of the learning videos but often have trouble with visual details in them such as where to click. Searching premiere manals online helps a little but I still feel I’m missing vital foundational information.
4. I seem to be running text based editing like a tape splicer unfortunately. I often end up with everything I didn’t want rather than what I did and so far I seem to be great at deleting portions of the source rather creating sequence’s appropriately. I have learned how to name sequences but possibly I haven’t learned them yet.
5. If a sound effect or music is misplaced, how can I move it without moving the whole timeframe? Or should I just continue trying to cut and reposition?
