Question

Text based editing on a (only) audio file track

Hello everyone,
I'm new to using Premiere Pro, and I have a question about the new text-based editing feature in Premiere Pro. I recorded an audio voice-over for a video, but I need to edit it by removing parts where I made mistakes and then corrected them, or by cutting out moments of silence. I've seen a video where you can remove and edit these parts easily by just selecting and deleting, which removes both the audio and video segments from the sequence. I want to do this, but only for an audio file. Is that possible? When I try to delete, nothing happens.

Yes, you can definitely use text-based editing with audio-only files, as well as with video and audio combined.

If you’re looking for more info, here’s a guide that might help: Text-Based Editing in Premiere Pro.

Hello Paul,

Thank you very much for your response.

Before I came asking this question, I saw this tutorial. I have no idea of what I'm doing wrong, but I cannot text-edit my audio, unfortunatelly. I'll keep trying. Thanks.
