Text blurry in export after changing sequence size

I am resizing a video for a couple different sizes. I started with 9:16, video exports crisp. Having some issues with text looking very crunchy upon export of other sizes. 

Made other sizes by Duplicating Sequence > Sequence Settings > adjusting Frame Size to new ratio (ie 4:5 or 1:1) No changes were made to export settings. It doesnt happen for all text, just one peice of text.

I’ve done many tests, exporting at different stages and it always happens after changing sequence size. Any ideas why this is happening ???
