Question

Text is black - cannot see what I am typing

I am new to Premiere Pro.

Sometimes this happens... and it's very frustrating... Is there an easy fix?

When I add a title page (from the graphics workstation) and click to edit the text (with the text tool), the text box (in red outline) is completely black. I cannot see what text I am typing. So it is difficult to adjust font size or color or position since I literally only see a black screen. I have not adjusted the fill or background or anything. When I push "play" then the text shows up fine. It is only when I am editing it that it goes black. As soon as I try to edit the box - the entire screen goes black, including the text box.

This problem only happens every few days. Other times - I have no issues at all and the font is able to be edited just fine.

Am I explaining this well enough? Does anyone know how to fix it?

My first thought is a GPU driver issue.  Pull that thread.

Have no idea what is going on: resetting preferences might help.
