Text not showing in caption

I created Subtitle in Premiere Pro v24. Everything works fine except when I typed in "fl" (as in "flower") or "ff" (as in "different") in italicized Lucida Grande font and the text doesn't render. Any other font or non-italicized Lucida Grande works fine. Strange.
