Text > Transcript > Ellipses Menu Bad JavaScript

This is a minor bug, but it affects my workflow. I noticed that when I use text > transcript and click on the elipses in order to reach the pause menu, the JavaScript re-renders the menu when I move my mouse, this effectively makes it so I scroll down to "Pauses", then go to click on "Pauses" and the menu resets, so I have to scroll down again (repeat ad infinidum).

The solution for me has been to just momentarily expand that windo so the menu doesn't need to be scrolled, but this should be so easy to fix, you just have to change the listener event that is re-rendering that menu when it is in scrollable mode.

Anyways, I hope this helps, and I hope this gets fixed soon.

Samuel,

I replicated what you are seeing. Minor, but maddening.

What version of PR are you running? I think you must be in the Beta version.

In 23.6, the latest Release version, clicking on the ellipses at the bottom right in the Text/Transcript tab just turns the ellipses on or off.

What I would call the pause menu is in the 3 dots drop-down.

In PR Beta 24.1.0.2, that ellipses icon has been replaced by an icon for "Transcript View Options," which contains the pause length, the toggle for Speakers, and more.

If I click on that, the "Transcript View Options" dialogue appears (as expected), and the Transcripts jumps/scrolls to the first transcript section (NOT as expected). It does this whether Auto-scrolling is enabled or disabled.

Upvoted. Good catch.

Edit: Forgot to test before I posted: This happens whether the "Transcript View Options" are opened via the icon or the 3 dot drop-down.
